From precise vertical lines to flowing motifs, every Ochoko carries a distinct identity. The Tate-Suji (縦筋) style presents bold vertical fluting that emphasizes height and form. The Nagare-Kasane (流重ね) pattern evokes sweeping, petal-like layers with a sense of movement. The Koshi (こし) design forms a woven lattice of intersecting diamonds, a classic Edo motif of protection.
